March 2017 Annual Dinner
On March 9, 2017 the Friends of Ronald Reagan gathered for their Annual Dinner. At the Dinner John Heubusch, the Executive Director of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute was honored and interviewed as part of the fireside chat.
John Heubusch
Mr. Heubusch is the Executive Director of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute. In this role, he oversees the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, the largest and most visited Presidential Library in the United States. As head of the Library, he has hosted and come to know many of the central political figures of the Reagan Administration and Reagan era, also interacting closely with President and mrs. Reagan.
John Heubusch brings an impressive political and business background to his leadership role of the Reagan Foundation, which has allowed him to develop an exceptional grasp of Pres. Reagan's enduring legacy and the historical significance of the Reagan Presidency. Before assuming leadership of the Foundation, Mr. Heubusch served as the Executive Director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, served as Elizabeth Dole's communications liaison while she was President of the American Red Cross, and served as Doles' Chief of Staff while she was President George H.W. Bush's Secretary of Labor. A veteran of Capitol Hill, Heubusch also served as chief of staff to Representative Denny Smith (R-OR) and as Staff Director to the Congressional Military Reform Caucus.
A seasoned private sector executive, Mr. Heubusch also served as the Chief Administrative Officer of Gateway Computers, a Fortune 500 company before being acquired by Acer in October 2007. In his role, he oversaw strategy, marketing, legal, human resources and facilities worldwide.
Mr. Heubusch has earned a Master's degree in National Security Studies from Georgetown University and Bachelor's degrees in Political Science and English from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University
